Your role at GEI.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Working with the Environmental group the successful candidate will assist with Phase One Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs) including historical records searches, completing site reconnaissance and report writing;
- Assist with Phase Two ESAs including soil sampling during subsurface investigations, groundwater sampling following monitoring well installation, elevation surveys, completion of borehole logs and report writing;
- Assist with hydrogeological studies including MOECC well searches, groundwater monitoring, soil surveys, geological characterization, and identification of sensitive areas. Work with other engineering disciplines to achieve project goals;
- This position includes both field and office work, including soil, groundwater and surface water sampling, and associated data analysis and reporting;
- Certain assignments may require that you work outside of normal work hours;
- Other duties as assigned, including communication with property owners (as needed).
Minimum Qualifications
- Environmental Engineering Technology graduate.
- Civil inspection and surveying experience is considered an asset.
- Experience and aptitude to work with the following software packages: Microsoft Office, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, GIS;
- Possess strong organizational, oral, written communication, and problem-solving skills; have an approachable enthusiastic interpersonal style;
- Possess a valid driver’s licence and have access to a personal vehicle.
