Staff Geotechnical Engineer

We are seeking a motivated geotechnical professional for the Woburn, Massachusetts (Boston) office. The ideal candidate will work on a wide variety of projects such as buildings, infrastructure and transportation, dams and levees, and waterfront development. This is an excellent opportunity to learn and gain a wide range of experience.
 
Essential Responsibilities & Duties 
 
This role includes subsurface explorations, construction observation/management, geotechnical and structural design, instrumentation design and interpretation, and technical specification support. Other responsibilities include:
  • Performing geotechnical field explorations and testing.
  • Coordinating and interpreting lab test data.
  • Developing spreadsheets and databases.
  • Performing engineering analysis and calculations.
  • Preparing technical memos, reports, and construction specifications.
  • Observing and documenting construction activities.
  • Preparing and modifying drawings using AutoCad.
Minimum Qualifications 
  • BS in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical is required
  • MS in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred
  • 0 to 3+ years of experience
  • Excellent writing and general communication skills
  • Working knowledge of CAD.  Experience in Civil 3D or GIS a plus.
  • Ability to perform field work on construction sites without restrictions, in inclement weather
  • 40-hr OSHA/HAZWOPER training is a plus
  • Willingness and ability to travel 25% or more
  • Valid driver’s license
